Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a diverse cast of heroes, and a gripping narrative showcasing celestial beings, evil spirits, and malevolent powers increasing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of Campaign 4 are included.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The third episode finished on a dramatic pause and introduced the first table of heroes who will separate from the main group to embark on their own adventure, distinct from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table includes Teor (played by Travis Willingham), Thimble (the talented performer), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
With a large ensemble, it was obvious from the beginning that having everyone at the same party would be impossible.
Hence, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, weaving together the individual narratives before dividing into three separate parties: Soldiers, Planners, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
Per the DM, the Soldiers table is for players who are drawn to a traditionally charged battle-oriented gameplay experience where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might appear unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment make it clear why these particular heroes are best suited for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
First, the party knows exactly where to go next after a intense first encounter with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, invading the hidden lair, attacking Thimble, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then cleared his liabilities and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, above the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each character has a individual motive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks revenge.
- Kattigan is familiar with the region and advises that it is a hostile location.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
- However, their position as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the group enter places they usually can’t.
- Additionally, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him anywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that control the city for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- Thimble and The hero are known criminals.
- The strong figure and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This leaves them no alternative but to head to Timmony in pursuit of the traitor.
Future Episodes
From the latest episode’s post-show segment, we discover that the warrior group will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight players to form the Explorers and Planners groups.
Audiences can anticipate finding out which adventurers will be in which group in the story’s concluding setup installment, released on the upcoming Thursday.
